Butch Ryan dies at age 89
Bo Ryan's father was guiding force
FORT MYERS, FL — William F. (Butch) Ryan Sr., the father of Wisconsin men’s basketball coach Bo Ryan, died early Friday morning in Fort Myers, Fla.
Butch Ryan suffered a broken hip in a fall three weeks ago, and was battling pneumonia. He was 89 years old.
Louise Ryan, Butch’s wife and Bo’s mother, died of congestive heart failure last December at age 86.
