Caledonia boys basketball on state tournament cancellation

A day after announcing all Minnesota state winter tournaments would be limiting fan attendance, the MSHSL this morning has announced that the boys and girls basketball state tournaments are canceled.

It’s a harsh reality for top-ranked Caledonia boys basketball, who had just defeated Stewartville the night before to punch their ticket to the state tournament. The team met this afternoon, and head coach Brad King says this cancellation will sting for a little while.

“You achieve that goal and then it’s taken away by circumstances you can’t control,” head coach Brad King said. “Luckily that was a little easier to understand, but still extremely disappointing.
