Campbell now using new emergency alert system

Alert system replaces Code Red platform

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A new emergency alert system is in place for another community in our area.

The town of Campbell is now using the ‘RAVE – Smart 911’ alert system.

The system is replacing the Code Red platform which had been in place previously.

As we’ve told you earlier, the system was brought to Onalaska at the start of the year.

And it’s expected in other communities in La Crosse County.

While the town of Campbell’s police department hasn’t had to utilize the system yet, they know that it can be helpful in a number of situations.

“We expect that in preparation for flooding this spring that we’ll be using it and it can be used for any number of things, road closures, it can be used for power outages,” said Campbell Police Department Chief Drew Gavrilos.
