Car damaged by pecking turkey
Police: Wild turkeys known to cause trouble
MADISON, Wis. — The reflections produced by a freshly washed and waxed car are what some believe led to a turkey damaging a Madison’s woman car by pecking on it.
Madison police said a 57-year-old woman reported a turkey started spending time around her car on Fairlane Court, defecating around it and pecking at it. She said the first incident occurred on Christmas Eve and again two days later.
“It appears scratched all over and even where the fender was painted,” the woman wrote. She said she couldn’t get pictures, because the turkey fled whenever she came outside.
Police said wild turkeys are known to chase mail carriers and block traffic in Madison.
“I guess the turkey could see himself and was pecking at it,” she wrote.
