Carmen Woestman
Carmen L. Woestman, 91, of Trempealeau passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at Eden House, Galesville, WI. She was born on September 25, 1929 to Roy and Pearl (Kennebeck) Buchholz.
On September 30, 1947 Carmen married Ervin T. Woestman, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2008.
She spent her life as a homemaker, babysitting grandchildren, lunch lady at G-E-T school district, gardening, playing cards, scrapbooking, spending time with her family, and will always be known for her famous potato salad.
Carmen is survived by her five children, Michael (Bernice) Woestman of Arizona, Norma (Randy) Van Vleet of Galesville, Phyllis (Fred) Schaffner of Trempealeau, Douglas (Jeanne) Woestman of Galesville, and Janice (Mike) Abel of Ettrick, a daughter-in-law, Kris Woestman of Verona; fourteen grandchildren, Brian Woestman, Brooke (Dustin) Sharstrom, Matthew Woestman, Jackie (Brian) Ackerman, Michelle (David) Knutson, Mark (Jenna) Woestman, and Julie (Josh) Yoon, Brandon (Katie) Johnson; John Van Vleet, Nicholas Schaffner, Brittany (Kyle) Dahl, Blake (Kayla) Woestman, Kelly (Chris) Ripp and Cory (Jennifer) Abel; and nineteen great-grandchildren, Zander, Isaiah, Charlotte, Lucy Woestman; Iris and Bryson Sharstrom, Emma, Mason and Owen Knutson, Aiden and Max Johnson, Paige(Alex)Haines, Isabella and Annabella Schaffner, Bradley Dahl, Weston & Nolan Ripp; sister-in-law Vivian Buchholz
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald Woestman: daughter, Lois Woestman; two grandsons, Jonathan Frederick Schaffner and Kyle Michael Abel; siblings LaVerne Buchholz, Ardelya Tucker and Melvin Buchholz
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 11646 South Street, Trempealeau. Rev. Antony Joseph will officiate and burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Trempealeau. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
