Carrol G. “Bud” Polodna age 92 of Prairie du Chien passed away on Saturday February 15, 2020 at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, IA. He was born January 21, 1928 in Prairie du Chien, WI, the son of George and Elsie (Konichek) Polodna. He married Helen Stuckey on June 30, 1954 at St. John’s Church in Prairie du Chien. Carrol was a member of the St. John’s Church Choir, taught Wisconsin Hunter Safety for many years, and was a member of the Wheelmen Antique Bicycle Club. He took great pride in his service in the US Navy. He is survived by his children Stephen (Donna), Michael (Mary Jo) Mark, and Mary (Scott) Board, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother in law Ray Ashbacher, two nieces, and one nephew, along with his special friend Rose Bauer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son Philip, a daughter in law Carol, and his sisters Louise Rod and Vivian Ashbacher.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Monsignor Charles Stoetzel officiating with interment in Evergreen Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Military honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday February 20, 2020 at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien where there will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:30 PM.
