CDC warns of salmonella outbreak in shrimp
(WKBT) — The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned Tuesday of an outbreak of salmonella tied to frozen cooked shrimp in four states, including Wisconsin.
The shrimp that is making people sick are sold under multiple brand names including 365, Ahold, Big River, Censea, Chicken of the Sea, CWNO, First Street, Food Lion, Hannaford, Harbor Banks, Honest Catch, HOS, Meijer, Nature’s Promise, Open Acres, Sandbar, Sea Cove, Waterfront Bistro, Wellsley Farms, and WFNO Brands.
Do not eat any recalled products. Throw them away or return them to where you bought them.
Wash any items and surfaces that may have touched the recalled products using hot soapy water.
Call your health provider if you have any severe salmonella symptoms including diarrhea and a fever higher than 102, vomiting and being unable to keep liquids down and signs of dehydration.
