Central grad RJ Seidel signs with St. Paul Saints
Seidel spent seven seasons in Milwaukee Brewers organization
Central grad RJ Seidel is moving to the Twin Cities.
The former Brewers pitching prospect signed with the St. Paul Saints, according to his mom, Linda Seidel.
The Saints are a member of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball.
The Brewers drafted RJ right out of Central. He spent seven seasons in Milwaukee’s minor leagues, making it as high as AAA-Nashville. But Linda told News 8 that the Brewers informed RJ in Spring Training he would likely start at AA-Huntsvillle this year.
Linda said RJ requested his own release and left on good terms.
She said RJ chose St. Paul because of its prestige, it’s proximity to La Crosse, and some advice from a fellow Brewers pitcher, Brandon Kintzler, who pitched for the Saints in 2009.
