Central grad wins 2016 Miss Oktoberfest
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The La Crosse Oktoberfest celebration starts this week and on Saturday, the 2016 Miss Oktoberfest was determined.
Central High School graduate Mattie Mae Krause was crowned in a pageant where Krause beat out six other women for the honor.
Krause is a freshman in the Pre-Med program at UW-La Crosse.
She says she is excited for the opportunity to be Miss Oktoberfest.
“It’s gonna be awesome! I can not wait. So many people have been introducing themselves to me. Little girls have already wanted to take pictures with the crown. I’m so excited for that aspect of it,” Krause said.
Oktoberfest starts Thursday with the Torchlight Parade.
