Changes made to WIAA basketball division, sectional assignments

Several local schools will have their basketball assignments tweaked for the 2020-21 season.

In boys basketball, Cashton will move from Division 5 to Division 4.

In girls basketball, Luther stays in Division 4 but will move from Sectional 3 to Sectional 1. Replacing Luther in Sectional 3 is Marshall, who won state championships in Division 3 in 2018 and 2019. They now have the potential to face two-time defending state champion Aquinas in that sectional.

Cochrane-Fountain City has dropped from Division 4 to Division 5, while Division 5 top seed River Ridge, who beat two-seed Wauzeka Steuben in sectionals, will move up to Division 4.
