LA CROSSE, Wis. — Operation Wedding Gown is giving military brides one mission:  pick out their dream wedding dress for free.

Charlotte’s Bridal is teaming up with Brides Across America to honor women who have served or whose fiancées have served overseas by giving them a free dress.

Charlotte’s Bridal holds the event twice a year and has given away more than one hundred dresses.  All to say thank you to the sacrifice military women make for our country.

“You talk to them and you hear how you know one girl had two tours in Iraq and you think two tours, that’s a lot to give up, so for us to give her a dress, it feels good,” says Charlotte’s Co-owner Kathy Walker.

The event takes place November 10th and 11th.  Brides will be served on a first come first serve basis.

To qualify, brides or their fiancées must be on active duty and either currently deployed or deployed within the last five years to Iraq, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Libya or Japan.

Deployment papers must be presented to get a dress.
