Chefs at Riverfest offer up some of the region’s best burgers during Burger Bash
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Reinhart Foods hosted the 4 th annual Burger Bash at Riverside Park in La Crosse on the final day of Riverfest Saturday.
For $10 people could sample burgers from competing chefs from Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa, as well as vote for who should win the people choice award and a $300 prize.
Members of local organizations and chefs made up a panel of judges that decided the best burger and the $500 prize that comes with it.
“This is definitely a competition. Our chefs take this seriously; our judges take this seriously. When the community comes in and they give their input, the chef’s really like to know what people think of their recipes,” said Michelle Jerome, the marketing manager for Reinhart in La Crosse.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Beer by Bike Brigade’s fundraiser to pay down school lunch debt for area kids.
