Chief says case of girl’s disappearance still open

Chisholm’s police chief says the 5-year-old girl who vanished without a trace ten years ago is still very much on the minds of investigators.

Chief Vern Manner says no one has forgotten LeeAnna Warner, a brown-eyed, brown-haired girl many call Beaner. She headed to a friend’s house in her neighborhood to play on June 14, 2003. No one was home and the girl has not been seen since.

Local and state law enforcement officers are expected to join Beaner’s parents, Chris and Kaelin Warner, on the steps of Chisholm City Hall Friday to say publicly that they have not given up hope on finding Beaner.

The Duluth News Tribune says authorities have followed about 2,000 leads over the years in their search for the girl.
