Child killed in Clark Co. vehicle accident

Four-year-old run over by grandfather

A four year old was killed on Saturday afternoon, after being accidentally run over by his grandfather.

The Clark County Sheriff says the grandfather was pulling a tree skidder into traffic from a driveway at 2:16 p.m. in the Township of Sherman. Two children were in the vehicle.

“His 4 year old grandson was standing next to him, on the side of the seat when he pulled onto the roadway. He looked the other way and when he looked back his grandson was gone. He realized he had run him over and stopped the vehicle,” according to the Clark County Sheriff’s release.

The coroner pronounced the child dead at the scene. Speed and alcohol are not factors in the accident.

The family has requested no names be released.
