Children’s Museum of La Crosse adds Luckey Climber
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The long awaited addition to the Children’s Museum in La Crosse opened to the public Saturday. Children were able to use the multi-story Luckey Climber after the opening ceremony.
The museum has been hand-building the 28-foot steel climber for over the past month. While the old wall climber was only able to hold one child at a time, this climber can hold many more.
Those at the Children’s Museum say this climber brings out the best in kids.
“They help each other. That they watch out for each other and I witnessed that twice in about the first 10 minutes we had it open this morning. There was one little boy helping his brother. His brother got a little nervous when he got up a little further and he said, ‘Come on I’ll help you!'” said executive director at the Children’s Museum Anne Snow.
If you would like to bring your child to the climber, the museum is open Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there is no additional cost to use the climber after admission.
