Children’s Museum of La Crosse begins $2 million renovations

Most projects will not impact visitors

A La Crosse museum is undergoing some big changes for some little people.

The Children’s Museum of La Crosse began a major renovation project this month. The renovations were made possible through the museum’s ‘PLAY It Forward’ campaign which raised nearly $2-million.

Fixes will include changes to many of the displays within the museum and some touch-ups to the outside of the building.

Museum organizers say most of the work should not impact visitors.

“We’re doing the outside of the museum. We’ve got some equipment out in front so it may look a little intimidating, but we are open for people to come in our normal hours. When we’re doing the climbing wall, there may be some intermittent times that we have to close part of the museum off, and we’ll try to let people know,” said Children’s Museum of La Crosse Marketing Director Leanne Pollinger.

Donations are still being accepted through the ‘PLAY It Forward’ campaign.
