Chileda raises money for new playground equipment
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A local program is asking for your help raising money for new playground equipment for kids with developmental disabilities.
Chileda is holding its annual ‘Cheers for Chileda’ fundraiser at pearl street brewery November 7th. The event raises money for new playground equipment for kids of all abilities at Chileda. There will be live music, beer tasting, and a raffle for guests.
Organizers say the money raised gives the kids a new opportunity to learn.
“It provides some sensory input that are students need to help them focus and help them calm down, works on some gross motor skills, a lot more of that sensory input that they need just to kind of regulate their body,” said Karrie Zielke, Director of Quality Improvement at Chileda.
The event is next Saturday starting at 6 p.m.. You can buy tickets at the door or at Chileda on Victory Street in La Crosse. A ticket gets you a flight of beer and a meal from Big Boar Smokers.
