Chill lose home opener shootout versus Fairbanks
LA CROSSE, Wis. — The Coulee Region Chill’s home opener Thursday night was also the team’s first ever game played at their new home at La Crosse’s Green Island Ice Arena.
With an extra attacker on the ice, defenseman Sean Lang tied the game for the Chill with only 0:23 remaining.
The game would eventually go to a shootout that the defending NAHL champions Fairbanks would win.
“I think we got away from our system big time, I don’t think our work ethic was there,” said Chill head coach AJ Degenhardt.
“There is a lot of things we could have done better. Beauty is we got a point. We got two more games against them this weekend, so we gotta come back and be better tomorrow.”
