Church offers cars to attract members
A church in Maryland offered something special to its congregation Sunday–a chance to win a car.
The Associated Press reports Destiny Church in Columbia gave away tickets to be entered into a drawing for one of five used cars to “demonstrate God’s goodness” and to attract new members. Sunday was the first service held in the 7-year-old church’s new location.
Pastor for the non-denominational church, Stephen Chandler, said the service usually attracts up to 1,100 people, but this week, the church gave away 2,250 tickets in advance of three services. A fourth service was added to meet the demand.
One of the cars was given to a family in need.
