City council approves money for pedestrian safety projects in GENA neighborhood

Pedestrian safety improvements are coming to the Grandview Emerson Neighborhood in La Crosse.

The city council approved up to $375,000 for pedestrian safety projects Thursday night.

The projects were part of a plan proposed by The Grandview Emerson Neighborhood Association to put pedestrian crossings and bike lanes to speed indicator signs.  The hope is to make commuting easier for pedestrians in areas, like Myrick park and Campbell road

All of the improvements will come out of the city’s capital improvement budget.
