City of La Crosse hears requests to be in next year’s budget

Some money to go to street flooding

City department’s in La Crosse are pleading their case for why their future projects need to be included in next year’s budget.

The city’s planning commission went through the departments requests earlier tonight. The city prioritizes their requests based on the biggest needs within the city. One project with top priority is dealing with flooding on city streets, especially on diagonal road off of Lousey Boulevard.

“There’s been you know over the years, flooding issues especially when there’s heavy rains in that part of the city. One of the items in the budget is to take a look at that and actually make some repairs and some changes to help alleviate the flooding that’s in that area,” said Mayor Tim Kabat.

Once the commission approves a recommended budget for the departments it will go to the city council for approval.
