City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department hosts Winter Wonderland event
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — While it’s a little early to get in some ice skating outdoors, skaters could head inside during La Crosse’s Winter Wonderland: Carnival Edition event.
The City of La Crosse parks, recreation and forestry department hosted the event at the Green Island Ice Arena.
UW-La Crosse recreation management students also helped with the event.
People could also enjoy arts and crafts, decorate ornaments, and get in on an ugly sweater contest for parents or guardians.
Students say they were happy with the turn-out.
“This is a time where we want to be with our families and enjoying a lot of time together,” UW-L recreation management student Spencer Spaulding said. “So having your whole family get together and come to an event like this is really important, and it just makes a good time even during a busy part of the season for everyone.”
This was the first time UW-L recreation management students helped out with the event.
