City of La Crosse reaches settlement with former employee

The City of La Crosse is reaching a settlement with a former employee who was fired nearly four years ago.

Former assistant city attorney Peter Kisken was fired in April 2013 after being on paid administrative leave for almost a year. The city says it terminated Kisken after he engaged in a personal and sexual relationship at work while using city resources.

After being let go, Kisken filed various complaints with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Equal Rights Division and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Thursday night, the city council voted to approve a $65,000 settlement with Kisken rather than continue to fight the case in court.
