City of La Crosse reminding residents about clearing sidewalks of snow, will issue fines
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The City of La Crosse is adjusting its snow removal policies.
A spokeswoman says the changes are in response to last year’s complaints.
Property owners have to remove snow and ice within 24 hours of accumulation.
After those 24 hours, and following a complaint, the city will inspect the property and the owner will be fined if the snow isn’t cleared.
If snow isn’t removed 24 hours after that, a city contractor will clear the snow and the owner will be charged for the removal.
There’s more information about snow removal on the city’s website.
