Clara Caroline Forsyth

Clara Caroline Forsyth (nee Motszko), 95, of Winona and formerly of Arcadia, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019, at Sauer Memorial Home under the care of Winona Health Hospice.

Clara was born the only child to Thomas and Anna (Gierok) Motszko on August 12, 1924, in the Town of Montana in Buffalo County. She attended a country school and loved being outdoors. Clara was united in marriage to Glenn Forsyth on November 22, 1945, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Arcadia. The couple enjoyed dancing, fishing and having fun with their children: Robert and Bette. Clara also loved to embroider and knit in her spare time. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and the OLPH-St. Anne’s Society in her younger years. Prior to the closing of the Arcadia Nursing Home, Clara received exceptional care from her friends and the nursing staff at Fransiscan-Skemp Healthcare, and was also blessed with extraordinary care when she moved to the Sauer Memorial Home.

Clara is survived by her son: Robert (JoDeen) Forsyth of Arcadia; daughter: Bette Hanson of Ballwin, MO; grandchildren: Carrie Clay, Dion (Mary) Hanson, Adam Forsyth, Roy (Megan Allen) Forsyth, Paul (Aki) Forsyth, and Mark (Troy Baggett) Forsyth; great-grandchildren: Colton Clay, Shelby Hanson, Josef Hanson, Devin Hanson, Skyler Hanson, and Glenn Y. Forsyth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Glenn, in 1984.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019, at Holy Family Parish with Father Kyle Laylan officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday, August 22, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, Arcadia, and also one hour prior to the mass at church on Friday.
