UPDATE: South Ave in La Crosse to close for emergency water main repairs
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — South Avenue will close to all through traffic starting Tuesday to address an emergency water main break.
The closure will be between 7th Street and Green Bay Street, which runs along Gundersen Health System’s campus.
A detour will be posted to route traffic around the project. Officials anticipate work to be done on Sept. 10.

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — A lane on South Avenue is closed as water utility crews work on a main break.
The closure is on the right-hand, northbound lane of the 1900 block right in front of Gundersen Health System. No intersections are affected by the closure.
They city says motorists can expect delays and backups on nearby side streets.
The project is estimated to be complete by Sept. 8.
