Coats for Kids collection at Lambeau this weekend
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers are inviting fans who attend this weekend’s home opener to donate warm winter coats for needy children.
The team’s annual Coats for Kids collection will take place Sunday, before the Packers take on the New York Jets.
Fans are asked to donate new and gently used winter coats, which will be distributed to children through local Salvation Army facilities.
The Salvation Army will collect coats and cash donations in the parking lot and at each main entrance starting at 11:25 a.m. Collections will be accepted until kickoff.
Last year’s effort brought in 592 coats and more than $14,000 in cash donations.
