Cochrane-Fountain City student named Presidential Scholar
Livingston one of three presidential scholars in Wisconsin for 2021
COCHRANE-FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. (WKBT) – A Cochrane-Fountain City Schools high school student has a new title: U.S. Presidential Scholar.
Amara Livingston, who was named a scholar in Career and Technical Education, is one of three Wisconsin students and 161 nationwide.
Livingston says finding out she made the cut was incredible.
“My jaw dropped. And I just stood up and marched straight down to the Ag room, to Mrs. J’s room here and walked into her classroom, while she’s in the middle of class. Showed her the e-mail and then she lets out a big scream and we all celebrate,” Livingston said.
The honor is a rare one, there hasn’t been a Presidential Scholar from the La Crosse area since at least 2003.
