As advertised, it was a soggy system that tracked across the region Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. Many locations picked up more than an inch of rainfall, including 1.49″ at the La Crosse airport.

Colder air wraps into the region tonight as low pressure slowly tracks off to the east. Moisture wraps back into the region as well in the form of scattered snow showers or light rain/snow mix. Lows will be in the 30-35F range for most.

Scattered snow showers will last into Friday as well, mixing with rain showers at times in some areas. Any snow accumulations tonight and Friday should be minimal (less than 1″)… but watch out for slick spots during the Friday morning commute, just in case. High temps on Friday will only be in the 35-40F range. If roads are still wet later in the day, there could be some slick spots for the Friday evening commute as well.

It remains chilly through the weekend, with highs only in the mid-upper 30s and overnight lows in the 25-30F range. A clipper system will bring a chance of snow Saturday night into Sunday morning, with light accumulations possible. Be sure to stay tuned for updates into the weekend.

Looking Ahead… Still chilly on Monday with highs in the upper 30s, then breezy and more seasonable Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the upper 40s. Small chance of rain showers or sprinkles on Wednesday. Cooler again next Thursday and Friday with highs closer to 40, with a mix of sun and clouds.
