Colorado man celebrates 2nd lottery win
A Colorado man celebrated his second lottery win in a little over a year after lottery officials surprised him Friday with a check for $500,000.
The Colorado Springs man, identified only as Paul G., won the lottery’s Second-Chance Drawing scratch game. In March of 2017, he also won $250,000 playing another scratch game.
A lottery promotions crew tried to surprise him on the most recent win, but Paul G. wasn’t home when they arrived. Instead, they coaxed his brother into calling him and telling him he needed to come home.
The lottery posted a YouTube video of the surprise when he arrived.
After receiving his check, Paul called his wife and surprised her with the news.
The crew asked him how he intended to spend his winnings.
“Pay off the house and go on a trip,” he said. “Because we promised our daughter that we were going to take her and her kids.”
