Community members discuss the costs of news coverage during event in La Crosse

Discussion part of monthly series at English Lutheran Church in La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The future of communication is the focus of a conversation in La Crosse.

‘Cost and Coverage in a Time of Communications Changes’ addressed changes to the newspaper industry in recent years.

A former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel staff member as well as the executive editor of La Crosse Tribune took part.

One of Wednesday’s speakers says there will continue to be a value to keeping people informed.

“We as a democratic society can’t get along without a good news source, reliable news source,” said Dave Skoloda, former Milwaukee Journal Sentinal staff.

The conversation is part of a monthly series of conversations at English Lutheran Church in La Crosse.
