Competing MVC athletes work together at leadership workshop

LA CROSSE, Wis. — On the court and on the field they are rivals, but Tuesday student athletes got together to learn about leadership.  It’s part of the Mississippi Valley Conference Sportsmanship and Leadership workshop.

Student athletes from all seven MVC schools met at Logan High school.  Ice breakers helped students from different schools get comfortable with each other before learning how to be a leader on the field and in the community.

“All the schools are here and I’m definitely getting to meet people that I didn’t know about and especially when you have your own stigmas about the schools and things like that, it definitely helps to know that your should make a connection with those people as well, not just on your own team but the opposing team,” says Bjorn Blomquist of Onalaska.

This is the 15th year for the workshop.
