Convicted sex offender to be released in Eau Claire

John MacLaughlin to reside on 100 block of Randall St. in Eau Claire

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections has notified the Eau Claire Police Department that convicted sex offender John MacLaughlin will be released from prison on Tuesday, September 16.

MacLaughlin was arrested on December 19, 2002 on two counts of Child Sexploitation and 2nd Degree Sex Assault of an Unconscious Victim.

MacLaughlin will be residing in the 100 block of Randall Street in the City of Eau Claire and will be supervised by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

Along with GPS monitoring, MacLaughlin’s parole rules also include:

No Supervised contact with minors No contact with victims No consumption of alcohol or other drugs No taverns, bars, or liquor stores Comply with sex offender rules Cooperate with electronic monitoring Comply with all requirements as a lifetime registrant of Wisconsin’s Sex Offender Registration Program

The Eau Claire Police Department would like to remind the public that all sex offenders in Wisconsin are listed on the Department of Corrections Sex Offender Registry website at http://offender.doc.state.wi.us/public/
