Cooking challenge provides chances for La Crosse kids to get creative in the kitchen

About 70 kids are taking part

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A new challenge is growing creativity for kids.

The latest round of the ‘GROW Kids Cooking Challenge’ kicked off Tuesday.

For the challenge, kids get a mystery ingredient bag of ingredients, to use in a unique and health recipe.

70 young chefs are taking part.

Organizers say the challenge is a way to keep kids learning.

“We just wanted to provide a hands-on experience for kids just because COVID has limited our time in schools,” said UWL Public Health Preceptor.

The young chefs will have the chance to win a prize and winning recipes will be highlighted on GROW’s website and Facebook page.
