Coon Valley 11-year-old organizes run to save sea turtles
COON VALLEY, Wis. (WKBT) – There was a 5k in Coon Valley Saturday for a good cause hundreds of miles away.
11-year-old Natalie Volden organized the 5K Kemps Krawl walk to help save sea turtles.
She fell in love with the animals while on a trip to Texas last fall and decided she wanted to raise funds for Sea Turtle, Inc.
“I think they’re interesting and it’s sad to see them die,” said Volden. “People can save the sea turtles and raise money for them.”
All proceeds from the event are going to the Texas-based organization.
They help rescue, rehabilitate, and release sea turtles.
