Copeland Park lit up for holiday season

'Lights Over North La Crosse' turns on lights Saturday night

Copeland Park is a lot brighter Saturday night as the North La Crosse Business Association kicks off the holiday season with “Lights Over North La Crosse.”

The event brought community members together, and they could watch as the trees in the park were lit up for the first time this season.

Dinner was free for everyone who attended and kids were able to visit with Santa Claus.

Organizers say this was the ninth annual “Lights over North La Crosse.”
They expected about 500 people to show up to the event.

“It’s a chance for neighbors, friends and family, to come out, have dinner together, watch the girls sing. We light all the trees in the park and close it off at 6’clock with fireworks for everybody to watch,” Nick Roush, president of the North La Crosse Business Association, said. “It’s just a really cool way to light off the holiday season for everybody to enjoy.”

The lights will be on for visitors to enjoy through the rest of the holiday season until the start of the new year.
