Cops: Minnesota man hurt trying to stop drunken driver
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Police in West St. Paul say a 24-year-old Army veteran who tried to stop a drunken friend from driving suffered severe brain trauma when he was dragged nearly two blocks.
Police Sgt. Brian Sturgeon says the driver and Kyle Kissinger had been at a bar until about 2:30 a.m. Friday
He says Kissinger tried to prevent his friend from getting behind the wheel, and apparently got hung up as the driver pulled away.
Kissinger was in critical condition Friday at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. A message seeking his condition Saturday was not immediately returned.
A St. Paul Pioneer Press report says the driver was arrested at his home. He’s scheduled to appear in court Monday.
Kissinger’s mother says her son spent four years in the Army.
