Corps of Engineers recognizes Onalaska resident
Scott Baker receive Construction Management Excellence Award
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — Onalaska resident Scott Baker was selected as the Construction Management Excellence Award recipient by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi Valley Division.
The annual award recognizes people who display excellence in construction management and contract administration activities. The Corps of Engineers says Baker was nominated for the award in part for his involvement with the Upper Mississippi River Restoration Program.
Baker works as the contracting officer’s representative for several projects to include the Pool 8 and 9 island construction. He also serves as the assistant flood engineer for Minnesota and Iowa and performs as an expert in contract administration procedures, submittal reviews, contract modifications and negotiations.
“Scott’s leadership in the Environment Management Program has set the standard division wide for his ownership and commitment to provide a quality product that has exceeded our customer’s expectations,” Tom Johnson, St. Paul District Eastern Area Office chief said in a statement. “His professionalism and dedication to construction quality is unsurpassed and has earned the respect of our partnering agencies, contractors and district staff.”
