Coulee Region Mardi Gras crowns the Rex & Queen of 2020

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The Rex and Queen of the Coulee Region Mardi Gras were crowned at the Freight House Restaurant on Wednesday night.

This year’s royal couple is Aquinas Alumni Tim and Lisa Kratt.

They’ll reign over fun-filled events throughout the carnival season.

Since 1991, the organization has helped provide tuition assistance, technology development, and helps fund the fine arts at Aquinas Catholic Schools.

The new Rex and Queen say being crowned for this year’s celebrations is an honor like no other.

“Never, never, in our wildest dreams did we think about this,” said Tim Kratt. “We’re having a fun time, getting a lot of friends together, and raising some money to help our cause. Should be a great year.”
