Country Boom Music Festival is about to Start

Dave Ring the co-founder of Country Boom Music Festival said: “It’s really is a true team effort, I think with all the people, all their skill sets and all their experience, we’re going to make this a first class event for the region.”

Almost 20 musicians will be at the festival–some of them nationally known.

Jon Holthaus, the other co-founder of the festival, said: “Yeah, Randy Houser I mean, he’s got multiple multiple number one hits, multi-platinum selling artist. Aaron Lewis same thing; he’s got a different genre where he used to be in rock and now he’s in country.

Dave Ring and Jon Holthaus are hoping their festival will be the next big thing in the La Crosse area.

“You don’t go to the Maple Leaf Parade or Oktoberfest based on what floats are in the parade. You go there for the atmosphere, you go there for the experience and you go there to just have a good time with friends so that’s kind of what we want to have here as well,” Holthaus said.

They’ve spent more than three years preparing for the event.

“Once this thing is now really starting to come together, it really is surreal like holy smokes and we’re ready,” Holthaus said.

Holthaus added that a lot of other cities around the state have big music festivals and it was time to bring one here.

“Why does every other one have one besides La Crosse? Why can’t we do one and why can’t we do it the best?” Holthaus asked.

The founders said it will help put more dollars in the community.

“We want it to be a key driver for tourism and economic growth for the area in terms of filling hotel rooms, restaurants, convenience stores, tourist attractions,” Ring said.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity.

“As this thing really starts to grow, really starts to build some steam, we have some more power to really give back in a big, big way,” Holthaus said.

There are more than 700 campsites for people who want to stay the night and the founders are expecting around 10,000 people to attend.
