COVID-19 safe ways to celebrate Halloween

Dr. Fauci says people who are not vaccinated should consider using an "extra degree of protection."

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Parents, if you’re weighing your Halloween plans and the pandemic, Doctor Anthony Fauci is urging families to go trick-or-treating.

But Dr. Fauci says people who are not vaccinated should consider using an “extra degree of protection.”

A doctor with Mayo Clinic Children’s Center says we know a lot more about the virus and kids can safely participate in some activities.

“If it’s outdoors, definitely a lower risk situation than having indoor parties or activities where you have crowds of people,” said Dr. Nipunie Rajapakse with Mayo Clinic.

The FDA could approve emergency authorization of Pfizer vaccine for kids 5 to 11 by the end of October.
