Crews fight house fire near UW-La Crosse
LCPD: No one was home when the fire started
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — No one was injured in a fire that started at a house near UW-La Crosse Thursday afternoon.
La Crosse Fire Division Chief Tom Wallerich told News 8 the two UW-La Crosse students who live at 507 13th St. N. were not home when the fire started.
The call came in at about 1:10 p.m. Wallerich told News 8 the fire appears to have started in an upstairs bedroom, inside the window. There is minimal damage to the house.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
La Crosse police said the American Red Cross is assisting the residents of the house.
The 500 block of 13th Street N. was closed while emergency crews were on scene.
