Dairy farmer Loren Oldenburg announces campaign for WI 96th Assembly District
Includes Vernon, Crawford, Monroe counties
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A fourth generation dairy farmer is looking to replace Lee Nerison on the Wisconsin Assembly.
Loren Oldenburg is running as a Republican to fill the 96th Assembly District seat. The Assembly seat represents Crawford and Vernon counties, and part of Monroe county.
Oldenburg has served in local leadership roles, including president of the Westby Cooperative Creamery and chairman of the Township of Harmony. He plans to use his experience to support family farms, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
“I don’t seek the leadership roles, but somehow they find me and that’s why I feel like I’ve got experience. I like talking to people, getting my name out there. I’m not political, not a politician,” said Oldenburg.
State Representative Lee Nerison is retiring from the seat at the end of his current term.
The Fall primaries are on August 14, with the general election in November.
