Dan Kassel

Dan J. Kassel, 67, of Grand Meadow, MN died on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at his home.

Daniel Jaye Kassel was born March 29, 1954 to John “Jack” and Norma (Stripling) Kassel. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Grand Meadow. He worked for Crenlo for a while and later worked for Amoco. Dan loved his daily routine of going to the motor mart for coffee and gossip, heading to The Diner for lunch and more gossip, getting another round of coffee, then heading home for a nap and to watch his TV programs, especially MacGyver and Wheel of Fortune. Then around 8 p.m., it was lights out. He was an avid reader, liked to play cribbage and enjoyed mowing his lawn. Dan loved his nieces and nephews. He never missed a birthday card and was always at least 15 minutes early to every birthday party. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Dan is survived by his siblings, John Kassel of Austin, MN, Pamela (Marshall) Goodfellow of Centerville, OH, Jeremy (Barb) Kassel of Stewartville, MN, nieces and nephews John (Marla), Jeremy Michael, and Caleb all of Grand Meadow, Diana of Bloomington, Cesca and Xavier of Stewartville, great-nephews Justin of Stewartville and Ethan of Grand Meadow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Deborah, and great-nephew Stephen Kassel.

Funeral services for Dan will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 23, at United Methodist Church of Grand Meadow with Pastor Jon Marburger officiating. Burial will take place in Grand Meadow Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow and will continue from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church on Friday.
