Dart tournament returning to La Crosse Center

WAMO tournament returning for first time since '12

Thousands of dart throwers are targeting a return to La Crosse later this year.

The Wisconsin Amusement and Music Operators’ annual dart tournament is coming back to the La Crosse Center for the first time in 5 years this May. It’s one of the largest dart competitions in the country and is expected to draw as many as 10,000 people to the La Crosse area over four days.

La Crosse Center director Art Fahey says the city’s abundance of hotel rooms and plans to renovate the Center are drawing more big events to the city.

“The state of Wisconsin is taking notice of what’s happening in La Crosse, and it’s really important. There’s some other events that have come here, they keep coming back and there’s a couple ones starting to look at us because of the changes that are happening,” said Fahey.

The Wisconsin Amusement and Music Operators also put on a pool tournament every year, which will be coming to La Crosse in 2018.
