David C. Vrieze

Dave C. Vrieze of Spring Valley, MN ascended to Heaven at Mayo Clinic- St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester on Halloween Eve, October 31, 2019 at age 65.

David Charles Vrieze was born June 30, 1954 in Spring Valley Township, MN to Garth and Dorothy (Maricle) Vrieze. Dave was a lifelong resident of Spring Valley. He was employed at Hormel Quality Pork and most recently at Kapper’s Fabricating, where he worked for many years. Dave enjoyed hunting and having a beer at the VFW, and playing pull tabs in Racine. He also spent timevolunteering to assist with local causes. Dave’s resilience throughout his life was inspirational to his family and many friends. His siblings remember his survival of kidney cancer at age 4. His legacy is his good humor, stories, and being sentimental.

Dave is survived by his children Jeremy (Crystal) of Plymouth, MN, Michelle of Racine, MN, granddaughter Katelynn of Stewartville, MN, sister Kim (Dan) Terbeest of Spring Valley, MN, brothers Gary (Bev) Vrieze of Pease, MN, and Cliff (Karen) Vrieze of Trimont, MN, nephews and nieces Benjamin Miller, Tim (Kelly) Vrieze, Tammy (Jason) Sabo, Nathan (Allison) Vrieze, and Scott (Danielle) Vrieze.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Services for Dave will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley with Pastor Mark Woodward officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5 at the church prior to the service.
