Dawn Langaard

Dawn Gail (Mills) Langaard, age 84 passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 28th at the Bethel Home and Services after a short illness. She was born on May 31st, 1936 to George and Hazel (Gorder) Mills.
She was a sister to Diane Larson. She met Donald Langaard in 4H and they began their lives together on July 3rd, 1954. After a short stint living at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, they moved back to Viroqua and started farming. They had 4 children. Dawn loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to bake, garden, feed her birds, and farming. There was always some sort of “sweet” treat at her house. She catered many weddings with her Mom and friends for years. She had special friendships with her sewing club ladies (Marline Peterson, Lois Gardner, Loretta Rood, Gerry Peterson, Denise Skaaland, and Dorothy Gronning) who have met monthly for over 60 years and her Homemaker group.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Donald and her children Greg, Grant (Cindy), Guy (Missy) and Greta (Mark) Olson. She has five grandchildren Brock, Melaney, and Lydia Olson, Alissa Langaard and Amanda (Alex) Stein. She also has four great-grandchildren Dominic, Zachary, Maverick and Barrett. Brother-in-law, Gary Larson and sister-in-law, Lois Patterson.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and her in-laws.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 3rd at 11 a.m. at the Thorson Funeral home in Viroqua with Pastor Paul Tjelta officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The Thorson Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Viroqua is proudly serving the family
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to Bethel Home & Services Foundation.
The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice and Bethel Home & Services. She received the utmost care and compassion from both entities.
