Defense claims wife’s death was accidental
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) — An attorney for the Fond du Lac man accused of killing his wife says the woman’s death was accidental.
Jason Anderson, 36, is being tried in Fond du Lac County on charges of intentionally shooting his 33-year-old wife, Nicole, in the head in November 2011.
Defense attorney Robin Shellow says Jason Anderson heard a noise in their home the night his wife was killed and fired his gun through the wall of their bedroom. Shellow says the first shot caused Anderson to accidentally fire a second shot, which is the one that killed Nicole.
The Fond du Lac Reporter says District Attorney Dan Kaminsky questioned why Anderson didn’t call for help after his wife was shot. Anderson was arrested at a motel in Birmingham, Ala., two days later.
