Des Moines church building vandalized
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A Des Moines church building has been vandalized.
Glass from broken fire extinguisher cases littered the floor and door locks were pried open throughout the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building. Two old computers were stolen as well.
Police say the break-in occurred between 11 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.
No arrests have been reported.
Church officials hired a cleaning company to clean up the fire extinguishers’ contents. Church members are scheduled to handle the rest of the cleanup on Saturday, getting the building in shape for Sunday services.
