DHS: La Crosse County has 23 new COVID-19 cases, Wisconsin sees 4,378

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse County reported 23 new COVID-19 cases Friday, according to Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
The county has a total of 3,984 cases and 20 deaths as of Friday afternoon.
New cases are spread across every age group include:
- One person of unknown age;
- Two people under 9;
- Three people aged 10-19;
- Two people in their 20s;
- Five people in their 30s;
- Four people in their 40s;
- Three people in their 50s;
- One person in their 70s;
- Two people in their 80s; and,
- One person older than 90.
Wisconsin had 4,378 new COVID-19 cases reported Friday, bringing the total to 190,478. Forty-two additional Wisconsinites died since Thursday’s update.
DHS warned Friday that COVID-19 is spreading rapidly in Wisconsin.
“As a result of the upgrade, the number of confirmed cases newly reported fluctuated over the past several days, but the 7-day average smooths out these bumps and shows that since early September the curve has increased dramatically,” it said in a statement.
